Christmas isn’t Christmas without beautifully decorated gingerbread. I’ve been searching for a technique for creating sugar decoration which would dry nicely and be of the appropriate consistency, and I’ve found it. It’s a super simple recipe which I’ve been using for the second year now to decorate my gingerbread, and I can say that it works great. You only need two ingredients, powdered sugar (200g) and one egg white. If you want you can add food coloring, some lemon juice or a bit of rum, if you want to flavor it. I like to keep it white and only add 1-2 teaspoons of lemon juice. Even the steps are simple, just keep adding the sugar to the egg white with a whisk. When you add it all, it’s ready to be put into a piping bag and you can start decorating. It turns solid in one hour. Your guests and loved ones will be impressed, guaranteed!
